Design: nCamp Multi-fuel Stove
The Multi-fuel Stove started with a question – could we reduce the bulk of a wood burning camping stove while creating a better cooking experience? Most wood-burning camping stoves have a fixed combustion chamber, making them bulky. However, biomass fuel ensures an almost endless supply. The goals were to provide the benefits of biomass, while reducing size and improving the experience of cooking. We designed the nCamp Multi-fuel Stove from the ground up, inspired by a traditional collapsible camping cup. With the combustion chamber at its core, the remainder of the product supports the cooking process...literally and figuratively! The Stove is designed to use wood, gas (with the nCamp Gas Adapter), hexamine or alcohol (with insert). It has a wide stable base, allowing the user to use larger and heavier pots or pans while reducing the chance of tipping, and the cooktop provides a place for setting utensils when cooking. In addition to identifying the opportunity and inventing the product, Abeo managed design for manufacturing, oversaw production improvements, developed the packaging, manual & graphics, and accessories.
